An Early And Very Rare U.S. Civil War Ames Officers Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Sword In Excellent Condition. All original and complete. The rare sword has an excellent blade, with fine Ames Markings, etching, and frosting on it. The brass Officers grade guard and pommel are excellent and retain all of their original gold gilt on them. The original leather grip and wire are excellent and untouched. The original scabbard is excellent throughout with no dents or dings in it. This Is A Very High Condition Example of An Early And Rare Civil War Ames Officers Model Heavy Cavalry Sword. These Ames Model 1840 Officers Swords Very Rarely Show Up For Sale as They Were made In Limited Numbers! This One Is Fresh Out Of A Very Old Collection!
