Description:
Standard configuration 24 inch octagon barrel with full length mag tube and rifle style buttplate. Someone has set this one up for target shooting with the long range tang sight and the spirit level on the barrel as well as the hooded front sight. Bore is not too bad with some shine and deep rifling. Doesn’t look too bad for an 1866. Beautiful butterscotch patina on the brass. A fair amount of original thinning blue remains on the barrel and mag tube with the balance turning a plum/brown. Nice looking and fitting wood. This is a later gun as it has the steel butt plate and forend cap. Rifle was made in 1883.Good looking old Winchester!
