Description:
*Sold Pending Funds*Winchester 1886 Lightweight Rifle 45-70,solid frame, has a 22 inch nickel steel barrel with full length magazine. Made in 1902.Barrel and magazine blue is very good condition, showing only minor wear at muzzle. Bore showing strong rifling and frosting. Receiver blue showing on left and right side, as well as loading gate, with the remainder being a fine patina. Top of bolt showing strong blue. Lever is showing mostly patina. All the metal appears to be all original , with all edges and lettering being crisp.Has an unusual set of sights, with the rear being a buckhorn sight with a peep combination. Front sight has a small brass bead with a flip up ivory bead as well. Buttstock and forearm in excellent condition showing no cracks or repairs. It appears that both have had a coat of varnish added. The wood is still proud of metal, so I believe wood was varnished but not sanded. Has a shotgun butt with a widow's peak hard rubber butt plate in very good condition. This rifle appears to be all original except for the added varnish. No sales to California or where prohibited.
