Description:
Gary Goudy full custom built in 1991 in .257 Roberts on a Springfield Armory action with a 22" sightless Kreiger featherweight contour barrel with an excellent bore. The action features a LaPour three position safety, Timney trigger, Sunny Hill bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release, and Weaver style steel 1" rings. Finely jeweled bolt, extractor, and magazine follower and two panel bordered tear drop bolt knob checkering by ACGG member Bruce Farman. Stocked in a very nice piece of English Walnut with darkly contrasting mineral streaks and heavy fiddleback figure. Pancake cheekpiece with shadow line, 28 LPI point pattern checkering, steel pistol grip cap, two screw inletted sling studs, and ebony forend tip. LOP on this gun is 13 7/8" over a nicely done leather covered pad. 7lb 6oz without scope.
I believe this to be the nicest Springfield custom that I have seen. All work by two highly respected members of the ACGG and remaining in new condition from the makers.
