Description:
The Hartford Arms and Equipment Co. was started in 1925 by former Colt employee Lucius M. Diehm. Having taken heavy inspiration from what would become the Colt Woodsman he created two versions of his pistol, a single shot and an automatic. It was produced from 1925 through 1931, in that six years they are reported to have made only 5000 pistols of both types. As a result of the Great Depression the company fell on hard times and was latter acquired by Carl Swebilius, a Winchester employee and part owner of the High Standard Manufacturing Company. As a matter of fact the Model 1925 greatly resembles the Model "B". This pistol would make a fine addition to anyone's High Standard collection as a forgotten predecessor that helped lay the groundwork for later target .22 cal pistols. .22 Long Rifle
