Markings on the Barrel in Excellent Condition. All original and complete. The Pistol has excellent metal, markings, & edges. It is very clearly marked on the lock in front of the hammer, "US/H.ASTON & CO", and behind the hammer, "MIDDTN/CONN/1851". The barrel is also dated 1851 and marked, "MS" & "US/GW/P". It is U.S. Sub Inspected "JH" on the side. All of the excellent metal is in the bright with sharp edges. All of the brass hardware on the pistol is excellent with a wonderful mellow color to it. The wood on it is excellent plus with crisp edges. There are two perfect U.S. Inspectors cartouches on the backside on the flat of the wood. It has an excellent bore and action. This Is A Very High Condition Example Of A Scarce U.S. Civil War Issued Massachusetts Marked Model 1842 H. Aston & Co. Percussion Pistol. These Pistols Rarely Show Up In This Super Condition!
