ABOUT NEW CONDITION THOMPSON-CENTER HAWKEN RIFLE, .50 CALIBER PERCUSSION HALF STOCK. These fine all-American made rifles were discontinued in 2012 and are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They feature 28" octagon barrels, cheek piece walnut stocks, case colored engraved locks, brass mountings and patchbox, double set triggers, and adjustable rear sights. The quality was strictly Thompson-Center excellent and they were made to shoot either a patched round ball or a grease grooved "Maxie Bullet". Loaded heavily with a Maxie, the T-C Hawken is the equivalent of the big .50 caliber Sharps rifles. Loaded lightly with a patched round ball, it is ideal for small game or target use. There are not many made-in America muzzle loaders around these days as most come imported from Italy etc. If you are not shooting a TRADITIONAL muzzle loader, you are missing out on a lot of fun plus extended hunting seasons! This one is near new overall.
