U.S. Civil War Military Issued Second Model Gwyn & Campbell Carbine In Excellent Condition. The Carbine is all original and complete. The Serial # is 3159 on frame and lever, and 3,390 on barrel with all parts also having #152 on them. This is common on Gwyn & Campbell Carbines as they were not too particular about assembling all matching parts. The extra #152 numbers were put on the parts at the factory to show it belonged together. All original and complete. The carbine has excellent metal, markings, and edges. It is U.S. Sub Inspected on the parts. The barrel retains most of its original factory blue on it. The top strap retains lots of its blue with the balance fading to a plum brown. The frame, hammer, lever, and butt plate all retain most of their original factory case colors which are darkening in areas. All of the screws are excellent with blue on them. The wood is excellent throughout with crisp edges. It has a U.S. Inspectors Cartouche on the back side of the wood. It has a fine bore and a tight action.
