SOLD , THIS RIFLE IS NOW OWNED BY A FELLOW COLT COLLECTOROffering a Colt Large Frame Express Rifle, caliber , 38/56/255, sports a 28" octagon barrel, from the Colts I've owned I'd say the sights are original to the rifle, also have checkered forearm grips which go with the rifle although they have a chip missing. This rifle has nice bright bore and decent rifling. I tried to Letter it but Colt was unable to , claims records on the big rifle's are scarce. She functions fine, I've 38/56 dies and ammo I've made out of the ( go to ) 45/70 case's which plenty of these old cob's ammo is made. This particular rifle I've not shot, I've a old 1895 Marlin that I plink with. I'm sure she will shoot but finding parts for these old gal's might prove tuff. I think I seen a pic of Billy the Kid posed with one of these big bugger's. She stood clean up to his chin. Anyway the Rampant Colt on left side is barely visible, metal has turned brown , butt stock has not been sanded, screw heads all appear good shape. One of the nicer Colt Large Frames I've owned. I ship through USPS, I know she's an antique but I still need a FFL or your own C & R to ship it to.
