Boss 12ga, 28", 2 3/4 proof in 1991 bores are 730 x 730 chokes are .04 right and 011 left minimum wall is .22 right and .23 left. I restocked this gun in 2002 whilst living in the U.S. with a period looking peice of wood to the following dimensions - Bend (Drop) 1 3/8" x 2". 1/4" CAST ON (left) Lop 14 7/8" x 14 3/4" x 15 1/8. Also the forend was restocked, it was rejointed with a new cross pin, had many new pins (screws) made and some parts reblacked. the gun weighs 6lb 9.3oz. The gun has seen very little use since I carried out the work, and has been in store since 2005. It does not have an original case

I recieved the following message from roberthodges99yahoo 12/08/2022 -

Hi Adam, This is a very interesting gun. As you probably know the Grant Hodges guns are not common, as they were usually lever over guards before they switched to side levers. Edwin Charles Hodges was my gt gt Grandfather so I kept a regester of his work. The patent use No refers to his extractor patent No 2996 of 15 November 1866. I only have a record of two other purdey thumb hole actions. One was for Thomas Millar of Sunderland, and the other was in 1870 Stephen Grant No 2998 which has an early Hodges snap action
