This is a potentially rare DWM Luger with A.F. Stoeger retailer marking on the receiver. The firm of A.F. Stoeger Inc became the sole importer of DWM Luger pistols in the United States in 1922. The order was for only 2,500 pistols, and their configuration varied. Most documented examples are in the 't' or 'u' blocks, so it must be noted that this one is not in any accepted serial range we could find for these pistols. The marking appears original but we can't say with certainty given the serial range issue. This one also features crown/N proofs and a Germany export marking. Matching numbers throughout with minor high edge wear and a little thinning/patina on the straps. Bore has minor frost but very good condition overall. Interestingly, the grips and magazine both have the full, matching 5-digit serial number on them. We don't have any explanation beyond guesswork for this, as even fakery wouldn't make much sense here but always a possibility.
