Description:
Ivo Fabbri Majestic SxS 12 gauge Pigeon gun. Beautiful sidelock built by one of the very finest gunmakers in the world, Iva Fabbri of Brescia, Italy.
Custom built in 1993, this sidelock 12 has two very noticeable features that few other Fabbri SxS pigeon guns share: 30” barrels and the Tomasoni Majestic engraving pattern with Griffins. Most of the SxS pigeon guns had 28” barrels, as that length was most popular at that time, and most had a less elaborate style of engraving.
The 30” barrels have a slightly raised hand-filed solid rib that tapers from 7/16” to 5/32” at the muzzle. There are silver front and mid beads. The barrels are fitted with Briley thin-wall choke tubes to improve the versatility of the gun. Included are six (6) tubes: SK, SK1, IC, Mod, I Mod and Full; with a wrench.
Single non-selective trigger. Non-automatic safety. Selective automatic ejectors.
The pistol grip stock has a 14 5/8” LOP over a 1” solid red rubber pad with 1 3/8” DAC and 1 ¾” DAH with ¼” LH cast. (I can have the stock bent for a right hand shooter). The matching beavertail forearm has an Anson style front-bottom release.
The gray finished receiver is covered in master C Tomasoni, Majestic pattern engraving with the inclusion of a rear facing Griffin on each side lock and the pair of angels on the bottom. Spectacular!
Weight is just what a Pigeon gun should be: 8 lbs. 5 oz. and balances right at the hinge pin.
Condition is: Frame 98%+; barrel blue 97% and wood at 95% with the deduct being a fair number of light, but noticeable handling marks.
Case in a leather, makers, take-down luggage case.
