Serial number dates it to 1890
Springfield Armory US Model 1884, serial number 506903. Manufactured in 1890 and is an antique. No FFL Required, it is a black powder cartridge rifle.
The right side plate is marked with a faded Springfield “eagle” and “U.S. / SPRINGFIELD”. The barrel shank is marked with a “V”, “P”, with an “eagle head” proof, and with partial stampings.
Rifle‚‚s 32 5/8 barrel has a clean bore and chamber. The rifling is weak. Original sights are present and the rear functions as it should. Finish is a mixture of blue and rust (Patina!). Hammer cocks and functions as it should.Cleaning rod is present, Wood is rough. Lots of dents, dings, gouges.
