SILAS ALLEN PERCUSSION CONVERSION MASSACHUSETTS MILITIA FUSIL CIRCA 1820’S. 58” o/a with 42” round smoothbore .69 cal. barrel stamped at the breech with Massachusetts proof “P M” and Silas Allen’s “S A” above. Silas Allen of Shrewsbury, Mass. was a well known gunmaker who produced both civilian guns and contracted with the State of Massachusetts for the production of military muskets in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. Original lock plate stamped “LONDON/WARRENTED”. Brass trigger guard and mounts. All original as converted to percussion from flintlock Very good overall with original dark metal patina and original walnut stock very good or better. Original metal ramrod. Lock in working order. Nice looking original militia musket.
