Holland & Holland Royal 12 Gauge 29"
A beautiful English Best Gun from the Gold Age of English Gunmaking. A really delightful shotgun. YOM 1916
Rebarreled in 1955. 2 1/2" chambers lengthened to 2 3/4" in 1999 and re-proofed and stamped.
Stock refinished. 1/8" Holland & Holland cast off. Wood is proud to steel in some places. Butt shows two plugs of wood in screw holes for a previous buttplate, heel and toe plates, or leather covered pad. Now a well executed partially checkered butt.
Forearm refinished. Original contours near the forearm plunger are somewhat asymmetrical and a small amount of filler is evident.
Case colors were redone by St. Leger (the father) in 1955 as well. They are quite beautiful with little to no evidence of wear.
