Description:
This is a nice example of a Winchester Model 1917 rifle from 1918. The barrel and bolt handle are marked with a correct "W" and the receiver is marked Winchester with a serial number dated to December 1917. The barrel is dated for January 1918, suggesting the receiver and barrel were paired in early 1918. The rifle has been re-parkerized and thus the finish is in overall excellent condition with minor handling wear here and there. The stock has been sanded, showing minor handling wear throughout and features a WWII Canadian Lend-Lease cartouche. The bore shows strong rifling, but shows areas of heavy frosting throughout.
