Many reading this ad recognize that I have been an avid Fox enthusiast for 3 decades and have had thousands of Fox guns flow through my hands and have handled thousands of others.  I know my Fox guns.  Here we present a rare find that was hidden away here in Michigan, a Fox AE Grade 16ga., sn303258 built in 1932, that is very special in several ways.  First, it is distinctly 98% FACTORY ORIGINAL CONDITION AND IN THE SAME CONFIGURATION AS WHEN IT LEFT THE FACTORY 90 YEARS AGO, RETAINING 98% BOLD, VIVID CASE COLOR, 99% DEEP BARREL BLUE, 98% DARK CHARCOAL BLUE TRIGGER GUARD, AND MOST ALL OF IT FINE OIL FINISH ON THE BUTTSTOCK AND FOREARM.  WE CAN SAFELY SAY THERE ARE FEW LEFT ON THE PLANET IN THIS EXTREMELY FINE, FACTORY ORIGINAL CONDITION.  Second, this Fox AE left the factory with highly figured wood, fully figured on both sides of the buttstock, more in keeping with a C Grade or above Fox gun.  Somebody must have had a friend in the Fox factory.  THE FACTORY ORIGINAL EXTRA FIGURE WOOD ADDS A GREAT DEAL OF VALUE TO THIS STUNNING FOX.  WE ALL LOVE (AND WILL PAY FOR) GORGEOUS WOOD.  Third, the gun remains unaltered in its configuration and specifications since leaving the factory.  We have included a copy of the factory order card in the photos for your review.  And finally, the gun is configured in a most desirable manner, with 28” #4 weight barrels choked M/F (right barrel choke constriction measures 10 thousandths, which in today’s world would indicate closer to light mod choke.  However, the bore/choke tapers all the way to the end of the muzzle, meaning it is the original factory choke.  Choke was not determined by measured points of constriction in 1932, but rather by counting the percentage of pellets that landed in a 30” circle at 40 yards, which in case of Modified choke is 60% of the pellets.  It is certain the choke has not been altered, or it would have a short parallel section at the end of the choke as you approach the muzzle; it does not so is factory choked), very modern stock dimensions, weighs in at 6lbs. 2oz. and balances dead on the hinge pin.  See the specifications in the tables below this paragraph.  The photos tell the rest of the story on the condition of the gun.  It has become clear that the shooters who are seeking to purchase an American doublegun from one of the 5 big makers built between 1900 and 1950 have found A.H. Fox guns to be amongst the most desirable, especially the 16-gauge guns that were all built on the diminutive 20-gauge frame.  The Fox 16ga. is often over ½ a pound lighter than the others, has the simplest and most reliable action and mechanics, and has superb handling dynamics.  There are so few offered for sale, and the ones that are offered have been hard used, poorly restored, stocks cut, pads added, etc.  The prices have risen steadily and will continue to do so, as the demand far exceeds the supply.  They made fewer than 2500 A Grade Fox guns in 16 or 20 gauge, and about half had ejectors.  NONE WILL BE FOUND IN NEAR NEW CONDITION AS THE ONE OFFERED FOR SALE HERE.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a very special Fox AE 16ga.  We paid a premium to acquire this fine Fox, and it is worth it to own the best.  Collector/shooters are well aware that the last 2% of condition adds huge value to a desirable, collectible doublegun.  Thanks for looking!
