We offer free Shipping for orders over $500. Description: This is a Swiss Model 1887 Saw Back 'Pioneer' style short sword marked “Neuhausen / S.I.G." on the Ricasso above “5772 / 92". Similar in configuration to the Vetterli rifle bayonet from the same time period it measures 23 7/16" overall with an 18 11/16" blade with one deep fuller and a 49 tooth saw back edge in excellent condition. The steel cross guard measures 4 1/8" below a checkered black leather grips secured with 3 rivets. The steel mounted leather scabbard has light age soiling and light speckling. An excellent example.
