Description:
Serial #84551, .476 CF, 4 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that has retained 97-98% of the original bright nickel finish, with some minor scratches and some tiny spots of plum-brown freckling. The topstrap is retailer marked: "HOLLAND & HOLLAND / 98 NEW BOND ST. LONDON", the left side of the frame has the Webley "Winged Bullet" trademark, and the right has a South African registration number stamp (L7588). The checkered walnut grip is in fine condition with some minor flattening of the points, and a few scattered handling marks. This very revolver is illustrated on page 74 of "Webley Solid Frame Revolvers – Models RIC, MP, and No. 5" by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is a fine-near excellent example of a nickel-plated RIC revolver, sold by one of the greatest names in British gunmaking, and has also been published in a respected reference book. Antique
