I bought this Remington 700 VS (Varmint Synthetic) brand new sometime around 2003 as a backup for an identical model, but then never did anything with it. I never fired it and it's been taking up space in my gunsafe ever since. I can't say it's "brand new" because it's 20 years old, but it's in brand new condition. Includes the original box and user's manual.
.308 Win., 26 inch heavy barrel, 45 inch overall length, weighs just over 9 pounds, 4+1 magazine capacity. Asking $1,000.00 plus shipping, estimated to be around $60.00 for USPS Priority Mail including insurance.
In the interest of full disclosure: this rifle has the J-lock bolt shroud ("Integrated Security System," or ISS) that Remington used for a few years. There's some debate about whether this affects performance, but it's easy enough to get rid of by replacing the firing pin assembly. More info from Brownell's here:
