On Hold Sale Pending. The Sale I purchased this from had this listed as a pre war of 1812 Millitia Musket. The full length stock is I assume walnut and is dark in color with a nice period carving behind the tang (see photos) is in good condition. The 43 inch barrel is smooth bore I think about 75 caliber. The functioning lock is marked SA & J Goddard Warranted. The trigger guard, but plate and ramrod guides are brass with a dark patina from age. The lock and barrel are dark brown from age.
