FALLING BLOCK Carbine British Imperial Legacy MILITARY Rifle w/AFGHAN PAPER Here we present an antique Braendlin Armoury Martini-Henry Single Shot Falling Block Military Carbine made circa 1885 with a production run between 1871 and 1889 with somewhere between 500,000 and 1,000,000 produced. Martini-Henry Carbines are quite hard to find, especially in the original .577/.450 chambering, as many were converted to .303 British. The markings on the carbine show that it definitely has had a somewhat interesting history and came out of Afghanistan in 2016. One of the most well-known private producers at the time was Braendlin Armoury, which was owned by one of the major players in the Birmingham Small Arms Co, William Tranter. The company produced many Martini-Henry action rifles, and according to some sources made parts under contract to RSAF Enfield. The quality of manufacture was very high, about the same level as the government factories. They also made many sporting rifles, and also rifles for foreign contracts. One of these contracts was for the Emir of Afghanistan, and was placed in the 1880s for various weapons, including these Martini-Henry Cavalry carbines, which is how this carbine ended up in the country. The left side of the receiver is marked THE BRAENDLIN ARMOURY Co., and the top of the barrel knoxform has the Braendlin Armory logo. Also included is a U.S. Armed Forced affidavit “Bring Back” paper from Bagram, Afghanistan dated September 14, 2016 listing this gun by make, model, and serial number. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. Well-used stock, contains average wear and minor dents and dings. Legible markings. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 21-3/8 inches. Caliber: .577/450 Centerfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
