Here we have a very unique Smith & Wesson Model 61-2 pistol chambered in .22 long rifle. The Smith & Wesson Model 61 (also known as the Smith & Wesson Escort or simply the Pocket Escort) is a subcompact semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle and designed for self-defense, and was made from 1970 to 1973. This little pistol is mechanically excellent and the 2 inch barrel has a good bore with very good rifling. The gun has attractive tortoise shell looking grip panels that are free of cracks or chips. This pistol has been carried a fair amount as evidenced by the high edge and finish wear on the metal. One magazine comes with the pistol. A neat little pistol that would be a great addition to an existing collection or a cost effective way to start a new collection.
