Description:
For sale is a very nice Colt Model 1878 double action revolver in .45 Colt caliber. It has a 7 1/2" barrel. Inspection shows the bore to be in like new condition with no rust or pitting. The serial number is 26233. The Colt Factory shows this 1878 was shipped in 1890 to Mexico City, Mexico. The factory letter shows the revolver was blued when it was shipped. The STAR stamped on the right side of the trigger guard and the markings on the forward surface of the cylinder indicate that this was a factory re-nickel. See photos. There is some minor nickel ware in a few spots otherwise the nickel plating is in very nice condition.
