In this listing is offered a Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle in caliber 38 WCF aka 38-40 with standard 24" round barrel, full magazine, crescent butt with rifle butt plate having the trap door for cleaning rod storage (none present), plain trigger, plain walnut stocks, standard open sights, blued finish, serial number 697434, made in 1917.
CONDITION: No original finish remains on the blued surfaces, with some staining present, having turned mostly a gray with light patina. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, no extra holes, starting to craze on the butt stock. Action functions properly including the half cock safety. Dust cover is tight. Bore is good, has typical light scattered pitting but plenty of rifling and should spin a bullet just fine. Correct sights are present. Odd being this late into production and having a round barrel as the octagon barrel dominated the round 10 to 1. Good entry level Winchester that will make a fun shooter.
