ORNATE BELGIAN / FRENCH PERCUSSION ENGRAVED AND RELIEF CARVED DOUBLE BARREL HAMMER 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN CIRCA 1850’S-60’S. 45” o/a with 30” Damascus fluted barrels with Liege proof at left breech. Ornately engraved nickel silver lock plates, butt plate, trigger guard and ramrod pipes. All beautifully engraved. Particularly fancy trigger guard with fancy urn finial. Walnut stock with checkered wrist and relief carved “SEA SERPENT” pistol grip in the French style. Relief carved flower on left side of butt stock. Fair to good overall with forend of stock cracked at the barrel wedge and ramrod pipes needing repair. Otherwise in working order. Fine quality gun that needs a little restoration.
