Here we have an unfired new in box New Model Colt Python chambered in .357 caliber. The Colt Python is a .357 Magnum caliber revolver manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut. It was first introduced in 1955, the same year as Smith & Wesson's M29 .44 Magnum. The Colt Python is intended for the premium revolver market segment. Some firearm collectors and writers such as Jeff Cooper, Ian V. Hogg, Chuck Hawks, Leroy Thompson, Scott Wolber, Renee Smeets and Martin Dougherty have described the Python as "the finest production revolver ever made". This particular example has a less often seen 3 inch barrel and still has all the original hang tags on the trigger guard. This unfired Colt has ramp front with bright insert and adjustable rear sights. Everything about this fine Colt is as new since it litterally never came out of the plastic bag after it was purchased by the original owner. This classic Colt would make a great addition to an existing collection of Colts or an outstanding way to start a new collecion. All original paperwork and box are included.
