Serial No. C 53788 .45 caliber 28" round barrel that is marked J.P. Lower Sharps Model 1874 manufactured circa 1875. Rifle shows some hard Western usage, Metal is a dark gray patina with scattered surface oxidation noted throughout. Butt-Stock has scratches, dings and marring noted, Forearm shows great example of saddle wear, you see this wear on hard used buffalo guns. Bore is dark with strong rifling still visible. Breech lever is loose action mechanically functions correctly. Rifle comes with a Richard Labowskie letter, noting shipment to John P. Lower of Denver, Colorado Territory.
