Description:
Stock and bore appear to have been civilian altered to a hunting shotgun of 28ga. A common use of the Murata's after the Arisaka type rifle replaced them in service. This one is a real 1880-1885 type 13 service rifle as the military sight block mounting holes are present along with the fully intact chrysanthemum. This example is in fair condition overall and the action appears to be complete and operate smoothly/as intended.
bore is good for a fair for a 135+ year old veteran. serial# appears to read #23686 matching on every location found.
