Description:
Considering its age this rifle is in amazing condition. Purchased in 1979, this rifle has been on display and never fired. The cheekpiece, engraving and double set triggers were factory upgrades and I would assume that led to the final assemble by Emil Flues, stock by john Splitter and the engraving by J J Lankes or Lynn Hukes. Also at this time much of the barrel work was by Pope. Newton, a retired attorney turned gunmaker, is considered the father of high velocity. The company had numerous problems and a fairly short life, leading to an extremely small numer of rifles produced. The estimate is between 3,000 to 4,000 with leass than 30% in .30 Newton.
There is slight wearing of the bluing near the muzzle and the photos show the minimal stock damage.
A real firearm converstion piece, both physically and historically.
