Perfect CONCEAL & CARRY Self Defense Pistol
Here we present a C&R Colt Detective Special made in 1971 by the Colt Manufacturing Company in Hartford, Connecticut, with a production run from 1927 through 1995. The Colt Detective Special is a six-shot, carbon steel framed, 2" or 3" barreled, double-action revolver, and the first example of a class of firearms known as "snubnose revolvers". As the name "Detective Special" suggests, it was intended to be a concealed weapon used by plainclothes police detectives.
The Detective Special was designed from the outset to be chambered for higher-powered cartridges such as the .38 Special, considered to be a powerful caliber for a concealable pocket revolver of the day. The Detective Special uses a slightly smaller frame than the Colt Official Police.
The overall condition is very fine. Original finish. The numbers match. The action is excellent. The bore is fine, bright, with sharp rifling. The grips are in great shape.
