This is a rare Brazilian contract DWM Luger. WM produced only approximately 5,000 of these pistols for military sales to Brazil. Most examples exhibit heavy use and wear due to the high humidity in South America. These pistols were serial numbered approximately 1 to 5000. These pistols were all produced on the old 1906 style frame with the grip safety, polished lower safety area and no stock lug. They have a blank chamber area with the "DWM" logo on the rear toggle and the only proofmarks on the entire pistol is a small circled "B" proof on the left side of the barrel extension. This example is all matching, but was probably arsenal refurbished, as evidenced by the blued small parts. Minor freckling on barrel and high edges. Bore is poor with pitting throughout but some rifling left. Grips have handling wear but no cracks. Unmarked magazine with wood base.
