Description:
A particularly interesting martial flintlock which looks better than it is - if you are a purist. Gun was found almost unfired but had been hand polished on most of the parts , except fpr the lock plate. Whatever light patina, less any pitting, was there was removed. I fogged the hammer and breech plug to replicate the original dark case hardening and sent the frizzen to the "Rifle Shop" fore case hardening since this was the reason that the gun appeared unfired and did not work. At the time, returning the lock to the factory was not unusual for frizzen rehardening. Now it throws a beautiful spark and is a good shooter.. There are no replacement parts. Would have to call it partially restored though it looks almost new. NRA - VG. No pitting anywhere even around touch hole. Good color inside the lock. Photos added.
