Description:
Interesting date marked on underside of barrel .. same as date of intro of the venerable 30-06 ctg .. partially and sympathetically restored, rear bridge not D&T; original buttplate, sling loops and sights; sight elevator is a replacement; early schnabel type stock, evidence of scorching on forend. Barrel, action, bottom metal and bolt handle have fresh rust blue over some scattered light pitting, markings still clear. Decent bore, some darkness in grooves about half way. Wood has been cleaned and re-oiled, repaired crack lhs near action. For addl $40 we can fit a Williams receiver sight hunter version. A classic with some stories to tell!
