Description:
Colt Detective Special in exceptional original condition. The serial number (495203) dates production to 1948, but has "Pre-War" features making this a desirable "transition" revolver. The original Dual-Tone finish is outstanding with virtually no high edge wear. The Coltwood grips are also excellent but have shrunk as is typical for most surviving examples. The recoil shield and cylinder face show little evidence of use. The original Colt box and test target are almost "like new" but are numbered to another 1948 produced Detective Special approximately 1700 units earlier (493504). These "Blue Label" transition Colt revolvers are seldom seen in such high condition and this package would make a fine addition to any collector of the Pre/Post War era. Price includes shipping.
