CIVIL WAR AMES U.S. MODEL 1840 MOUNTED ARTILLERY SABER DATED 1861 W/SCABBARD. 38” o/a with 32” blade dated 1861 on ricasso and partial Ames Manufacturing Co. stamp on the obverse. All original and in very good overall condition with bright blade and grip retaining the original leather wrap and brass retaining wire. Original leather washer. Excellent scabbard with the original dark patina and dent free.
