Description:
Scarce U.S. marked 2" Colt Detective Special, serial number B04694, chambered in .38 Special. This revolver is part of the last government order of these revolvers that shipped to the Commanding Officer, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg PA. in September of 1970. A Colt Archives letter is included for authenticity. This revolver is 100% correct with standard markings, "P" inspection mark on the left front of the trigger guard, and "U.S." stamping on the heel of the back strap. Finish and grips are original and in very good condition. Mechanics and timing are excellent. The gun shows signs of being carried by slight high edge wear and minor handling marks, as would be expected from a military issued sidearm.The cylinder face and recoil shield indicate very little actual use. Letterkenny Detective Specials rarely come up for sale, and are highly desirable. This example would make a fine addition to any Colt or military collection. Shipping is included in price.
