Description:
The Model 788 was designed to be Remington's everyday hunter and compete with lesser priced rifles. It features a 9-lug bolt that locks into the rear of the receiver and has a 60 degree bolt throw. The single stack detachable magazine holds 3 rounds. The design of the action is inherently a bit stronger than most other bolt rifles. The rifle is noted for its potential good accuracy, meeting (and beating) rifles of much higher cost. The stock is stained hardwood with elevated comb. .308 Winchester
