Here we have an honest Smith & Wesson 4th model Safety Hammerless revolver chambered in .38 S&W caliber. This revolver has several nicknames like "New Departure" and "Lemon Squeezer". The 5 inch barrel has a good bore with lots of rifling remaining. The gun has a fair amount of it's nickel finish remaining. The cylinder has a fair amount of wear and spotty finish loss. The barrel mechanism, trigger and grip safety all work correctly. The mother of pearl grip panels have a small chip at the top of the left side. This fine Smith & Wesson would make a great addition to an existing collection or a strong way to start a new collection.
