Description:
***   SOLD  ***    Chas. H. Maleham 16 bore back action sidelock non-ejector with nicely figured nitro Damascus barrels and highly figured European walnut stock. Reconditioned by Graham MacKinlay in Scotland in 2003 it remains in very good condition. At that time the chambers were lengthened to 2-3/4” and reproofed. At 6lb 3oz it handles well and quickly.   ***   The 28” nitro Damascus barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells and show very nice figure. They are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib. The right barrel is bored 0.675 with a constriction of 0.003 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.027. The left barrel is bored 0.677 and has a constriction of 0.012 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.025. Great choking for upland gunning!   ***   The straight grip stock and splinter forearm are made of highly figured European walnut. The checkering is crisp. There are a few minor handling marks on the stock. Stock dimensions are 14-3/4” including a 7/8” horn buttplate by 1-5/8” by 2-3/8”. Cast off for the right hand shot.   ***   Chas. H. Maleham was a well respected London maker and it is easy to see why. This double is very well made. A great handling gun for upland game like grouse, woodcock, quail and doves. Good British 16 bores chambered for 2-3/4” cartridges don’t come available very often. Better move on this one. Bird season is upon us!   ***  Please note that the photographs are part of the description. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period which begins when the firearm is delivered to your FFL dealer's premises or to a specified address if the gun is classified as an Antique, Returns at buyer’s expense.
