Description:
Mauser 98K, chambered in 7.92X57 MM. This Mauser was originally made during World War II and later refurbished in Yugoslavia. As such the original German markings have mostly been removed and replaced by Yugoslav markings. On top of the receiver we can see the Yugoslav Crest and the scratches indicated the German markings removal. On the left side of the receiver we see the markings of Predizece 44 and Mod 98. This indicates the Yugoslavian factory where the rework was done and the Model 98. There are matching serial numbers of 6567 in the following locations: Right side of the receiver, bottom of the plate, left side of the stock in the wood. The bolt has a different serial number of 1735 on the handle, but it retains a Nazi proof mark that can be seen with the bolt pulled back. Lastly, on the bottom of the barrel, we can see an incorrectly stamped import mark that states, "9 MM GERMANY" and the importer SARCO STIRI G N J. 7.92x57mm
