This is a 1965-made revolver that has retained 97-98% of the original blued finish on the barrel and cylinder, with some minor silvering along some of the cylinder flute edges, as well as a commensurate amount of the black anodized finish remaining on the lightweight allot frame. Most of the silvering occurs along the bottom portion of the frame, especially around the trigger guard. The checkered walnut Colt medallion grips are original and numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in fine shape, with only some mild flattening of the points on either side. A Colt factory hammer shroud is installed, and the revolver locks-up tightly. The revolver is accompanied by a 2020-dated Colt Factory Letter that confirms the hammer shroud and lists a shipping date of June 22, 1965, to Jones Equipment Co. of Hollywood, FL (a police equipment supplier). It was one of six identically configured guns in the shipment. This is a splendid example of a mid-’60s Colt, and is in fine-excellent condition overall.
