Here is a like new Umberti/ Winchester 1886 45-70 rifle. This thing is beautiful; imported by Stoeger! The case colored receiver, blued octagonal barrel and parts will knock you out. If this were an antique 86' Winchester it would be $5000~7000 easy. The gun shoots like it has eyes! Tried some cast lead mild loads. There is a photo of the target. With Elmer Keith's favorite 45-70 86 Winchester load: 400 gr jacketed flat point and 53 grs. of IMR 3031 driving this freight train 1850 fps; will kill most big game in North America. The big shotgun butt makes shooting heavy bullets a cupcake. Receiver is drilled and tapped for an aperature receiver sight. The pistol grip and curved lever really adds to the styling as found on original DeLux Winchesters. The checkering is fine and neat. The action is a smooth as silk! Never had a feeding problem! Great gun for the flatlander states of Ohio and Iowa that allow for rifles with a straight side cartridge cases. Better than using a shotgun with slugs. Wholesaleing it out for $1600 !!!
