This is a Springfield 1871 rolling block rifle chambered in 50-70. They made 10,000 of these rifles between 1871-72. They were made on the Remington rolling block patent. This rifle has a nice patina through out with no pitting and a very clean and sharp bore. This rifle has been well cared for over its 150 year life and deserves the same continued care.
