Description:
Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Service Rifle, chambered in 7.7 Jap. Features include: Mauser inspired bolt action, 5 shot internal box magazine, one-piece bolt construction, controlled feed Mauser style extractor, adj. rear peep style ladder sight with folding anti-aircraft lead arms, fixed shrouded front blade sight, full length wooden stock, full length upper handguard, bottom mounted sling swivels, metal buttplate, finger grooves on forearm, knurled knob style safety located on the rear of the bolt body, straight bolt handle, lever-style bolt release with integral ejector, blued finish. This arisaka is in decent shape given its age. It is an early war variation sporting the 31' barrel. On the receiver we can clearly see the Japanese chrysanthemum. On the left side of the receiver is the serial number and arsenal mark showing this rifle came from the Nagoya arsenal. All serial numbers that can be found appear to match. The rifle retains most of its bluing, though it has patinaed, and the bore is absolutely beautiful and clean. The bayonet is either from the Tokyo or Kokura arsenal and its serial does not match the rifle. 7.7 Japanese
