(KRAG JORGENSEN) SPRINGFIELD 1898, CAL. 30-40, SER.244717. REALLY OUTSTANDING. THIS IS A 123 YEAR OLD "ATTIC QUEEN". THIS GUN STILL HAS ABOUT 20-25%%+% OF THE ORIGINAL ARSENAL BLUE. THE BALANCE HAS TURNED TO A LIGHT SIVER GRAY PATINA..THERE ARE NO RUST PATCHES, SCRATCHES OR RUB MARKS ANYWHERE THE ORIGINAL WALNUT STOCK IS OUTSTANDING. RETAINING ABOUT 95% OF THE ORIGINAL LACQUER. THERE IS THE VAGUE REMNANTS OF A CARTOUCHE ABOVE THE TRIGGER GUARD ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE ONLY DING IS ON IT'S LEFT SIDE. THE WRIST HAS THE PROPER CIRCLE P PROOF AND ALL THE PARTS HAVE THE PROPER INSPECTORS STAMP. THE REAR SIGHT HAS THE THREE NOTCH WINDAGE FEATURE. THE SLIDE RAILS, BOLT FACE AND FEED RAMP SHOW LITTLE USE. THE BORE IS EXCELLENT, QUITE BRIGHT WITH SHARP WELL DEFINED RIFLING AND A LITTLE SCATTERED LIGHT FROST.
