Description:
#4794 Marlin 1881 OBFMCB 45/70 with very desirable double set triggers, 14XXX serial range (1887), VG bore (at least a 7 as it is and should clean a little better), no rings, bulges, or serious pitting and having strong rifling. Should be a real decent big-bore black powder shooter after a thorough safety check by a competent gunsmith. Smooth grey-brown metal with mottled age staining, VG markings. Decent wood except for a nasty sliver on the buttstock toe edge and some long scratches on the left comb (see photos). Just a decent early Marlin in the most popular cartridge of that era and also having the double set triggers. About VG. $2145
