MAGNIFICENT BALLARD RIFLE AND CARTRIDGE CO. OF CODY, WYOMING BALLARD No. 7 LONG RANGE RIFLE, .45-70 CALIBER. No longer manufactured (unfortunately) these superb rifles were an exact re-creation of the famed Marlin Ballard Rifles that were built until 1891. This was the top of the line No. 7 Long range rifle. Each was hand built and could be had with custom options- like this one. This rifle with serial number 1xx features extra fancy walnut or a medium blonde color and dark grain pattern as the originals. It is finely and fancy checkered on the pistol grip and forend. The forend is fitted with a schnable ebony tip and the stock has a checkered steel butt plate. The wood is finished in AAA hand rubbed oil to fully seal the wood pores and bring out the full color and grain pattern in the walnut. Further, this rifle is barreled with a 34" high polished blue round barrel with "Rigby Ribs" at the rear section ahead of the receiver with no rear sight dovetail. The action has fully adjustable double set triggers, full loop lever and is case hardened. The tang is fitted with an MVA Long Range vernier sight adjustable for windage and elevation along with a globe front sight which will take inserts (fitted now with a post). These Cody, Wyoming made Ballard rifles rarely come up for sale now and this one is spectacular. About new inside and out.
