Description:
Owned by the grandson of JC Higgens this DA REVOLVER. Cal. 450 CF. NSN. This revolver is based on the Webley No. 2 British Bull-Dog pattern appearing to be mfg. w/in the small arms conglomerate that was Birmingham, England. This nickel plated revolver has wedges of acanthus scroll engraving that extends to top strap & trigger guard. Top strap is engraved "J. P. CLARBOROUGH / SAN FRANCISCO" along w/ "BULL-DOG" on top flat of 2 1/2" bbl along w/ 2 Birmingham proofs. Rnd. 6 shot cyl. is stamped "(WH)" on face. 2 Piece checkered wood bird's head grips. CONDITION: good nickel finish flaking throughout w/ oxidation & handling marks. Good grips w/ wear near butt. Strong bore w/ pitting. Cylender locks up tight with barely any side to side movement. Timmed very well. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Kenneth Horn (Grandson of JC Higgins).
