Payment Types Accepted: Cash, Check, USPS Money Order Description: This Colt D.A. .38 is the Colt commercial (i.e., civilian) New Army model and is chambered for the .38 Long Colt. It has a six-inch barrel, fixed rear and front sights, a six-shot fluted cylinder, checkered hard-rubber grips, and a blue finish. It was manufactured in 1898. The overall condition of this gun is approximately 40 percent. The gun is fully functional, though the cylinder seems a little loose. The barrel overall has about 40 to 50 percent of its bluing. Most of that bluing is on the top and belly of the barrel. The sides of the barrel have a gray patina, along with some very light pitting. The frame has about 70 percent of its bluing, but has some light scratches. The cylinder has about 30 to 40 percent of its bluing, along with some gray patina and some light pitting. The bore is bright and shiny, though I can see a little pitting about midway down the barrel. Overall, the gun has good rifling. The chambers are bright and shiny, and I see no pitting. The grips are made of hard rubber and are practically perfect, with no damage (nicks, mars, dents, etc.). The checking land the rampat colt logo are deep and crisp, though there the a little wear apparent on the bottom part of the rampant colt (left grip) where the thumb contacts the grip. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.
